We are looking for a

Research technician

You will be joining the new Platform of Advanced In vitro Model Systems (AIMS), which has ambition to generate new and expand on the existing disease models in vitro. The platform offers a dynamic and stimulating work environment.

The research in the department aims on understanding the mechanism of action and regenerative potential of mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (MSC) and their secretome in context of therapeutic use of MSC for different clinical conditions.

Your work:
  • You will be contributing to the organization and development of the new Platform of the Advanced In vitro Model Systems;
  • The activities of the platform will focus on the generation of novel disease models in vitro using cutting edge technologies such as organoids and iPSCs;
  • You will be involved in different research projects within the platform;
  • You will be working with the variety of techniques including: 3D organoid culture, co-culture, Western blotting, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, differential centrifugation and sucrose gradient, nanoparticle tracking analysis, cutting edge cloning techniques, lentiviral transductions, making transgenic cell lines, siRNA knock down and Crispr-Cas9 technology.

Your experience
  • HLO or similar training completed;
  • Experience with molecular and cell biology techniques and tissue culture is required;
  • Previous training with organoid and/or iPSCs culture is a plus;
  • Good verbal & written communication skills in Dutch and English.
