Combating diseases (public health)
BPRC conducts scientific research on behalf of medicine. By carrying out biomedical research, we obtain knowledge that may result in new ideas, which may help us eradicate the various serious diseases from which people may suffer.
Combating well-known diseases
The purpose of our research is to help fight well-known diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In addition, in the past we were closely involved in studies designed to improve organ transplantation. As far as infectious diseases are concerned, we study treatments of diseases such as malaria, AIDS, hepatitis, tuberculosis and Zika virus. And these are just some of the fields of research we engage in.
For other researchers
We store tissues and blood products in our oft-consulted biobank, thus ensuring that nothing is wasted. Other researchers are welcome to use these materials for medical research, and to help preserve endangered primate species living in the wild!
