Research achievements
Research conducted at BPRC has led to new major insight in life-threatening and seriously disabling human diseases such as corona, AIDS, Parkinson's, dengue and malaria. Recent breakthroughs from our research include new insight in the effects of mild SARS-C0V-2 infections in the brain, evaluating new corona vaccines and improvement in the field of tuberculosis vaccines. Furthermore, BPRC research into alternatives has shown new perspectives in the areas of replacement, refinement and reduction of animal testing. enabling us, among other things, to research new imaging techniques and to develop in vitro models.
Moreover, BPRC has played an important part in the development of safe organ and bone marrow transplantation protocols. Another advantage of tests carried out at BPRC, which should not be underestimated, is that potentially 'unsafe' medicines and therapies are discovered at an early stage.
