Succesful Dutch Malaria Day 2024 at BPRC

The Dutch Malaria Day is an annual meeting which takes place in Nijmegen, Leiden or Rijswijk. Last weeks meeting was at BPRC in Rijswijk on thursday November 28. Over fifty scientists from all over The Netherlands joined to present their recent work on malaria-related topics.
With great pleasure, confidence and pride we announce that BPRC has found a new director. Prof. dr. Merel Langelaar will start in her new position on 15 November 2024. The Supervisory Board, with the approval of our Works Council, chose Merel based on her qualities and experience in combination with her pleasant personality.
The Atlas of Diagnostic Pathology in Nonhuman Primates

Earlier this year was the release of The Atlas of Diagnostic Pathology in Nonhuman Primates. This work offers the first extensively illustrated collection of classic lesions in nonhuman primate diseases, compiled by an international team of expert contributors including BPRC’s veterinary pathologist.

On Thursday, June 27, several Parkinson’s patients and their companions visited the BPRC for presentations, a guided tour, and practical demonstrations. This event was organized as part of Open Week 2024 for signatory institutions of the Dutch Transparency Agreement on animal research, and the Patient Discovery project launched by the European Animal Research Association.
